Humanity Fell!

God provided time, so a blog is created.

More thoughts on the fall, and the Bible's clear direction to Christ...

Romans 5, especially verse 17-19 NIV "For if , by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.  For just as through the disobenience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous."  Comes to mind today.

Today, Genesis 4:1-5:32.

Cain and Abel speak to attitudes.  Cain brought some fruit.  Abel brought fat portions from the firstborn, gave of his firstfruits.  Cain was upset.  The LORD  advised Cain..."Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

This instruction applies to us all, for the devil is always there, knowing our weak spots, sending arrows our way, paitently waiting for us.  We look to Christ's actions, and are aware that the devil is looking for a "more opportune time" Luke 4:13.

Abel's blood cried out.  Look at what blood can do.  It carries oxygen and nourishes our bodies.  It carries waste for our bodies to dispose of.  Look at what Christ's blood did, it was shed for forgiveness of our sin.  No wonder Abel's blood cried out to the LORD.

The LORD in His mercy protected Cain from being murdered with the word of suffering vengence 7 times over for killing Cain and 77 times over for killing Lamech.

Adam's line is listed to Noah, who built the ark in a time of great wickedness.  Noah was obedient.

God desires obedience much more than sacrifice. 1Samuel 15:22 NIV "But Samuel replied: Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD?  To be obedient is better than sacrifice and to heed is better than the fat of rams."

Nephilim are mentioned, as a class of beings in Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33.  Scripture states in Genesis that Nephillim were, " on the earth in those days-and also afterward- when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them.  They were the heros of old, men of reknown."  In Numbers it is stated that Israel's spies on Cannan " saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim).  We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes and we looked the same to them.

What a lack of faith these spies had.  So many blessings are dependent on faith.  We will read more on that later.  Right now, on a side, one could look at Hebrews 11 to get insight into how important faith is.

Ask the Spirt to strengthen your faith daily.

Some attributes of God that come to mind today are:
Teacher/instructor
Listener
Protecter
Merciful
Giver
Creater
Observer
Diretor
Order

Blessings

In Christ,

David P
