Small Things (July 8)

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.
                                       Micah 5:2 NIV

In the front of the Chronologic Bible, we can see that Micah was a prophet to Judah from 742-687 BC.  As we read Micah, we can discern that he spoke to the capitals, Samaria and Jerusalem about how far they had fallen from true worship and true life as the Lord had planned.

We can read of his statement that Bethlehem would be the birthplace of Christ some 700 years ahead of the event.

Clear instructions are given for life and for what the Lord requires in Micah 6:8 NIV: He has showed you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Today's reading shows a view of the clear, perfect, complete plan of the Lord, with His promise in this fallen world.

Enjoy reading Micah.

How do you consider the small things in your daily life?

Are there any small things that you are overlooking and should be seeing?

Pray for the Spirit to guide you to see those important small things.

In Christ,

David P
