How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life evermore.
Psalm 133 NIV
Together in unity! Reminds one of the fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5 NIV: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
We are born of the Spirit and through Christ, there is unity. We are all differnt parts, but one body. We are anointed by the Spirit and as we learned in Pastor Vokt's sermon today, anointing sets the anointed aside and allows God to equip the anointed one to complete a task. We learned about the anointing of Jesus at the home of Simon the Leper by Mary today. The anointed was anointed.
Think of what was done to Jesus during Holy Week. He died for our sins and rose from the grave to conquor death. His perfect, complete, satisfactory, efficient sacrifice was for our, your and my, sin. His sacrifice allows us to approach God through Him and be acceptable to God.
Pray to have your eyes on the Cross this week and to be open to the Spirit's guidance.
In Chirst,
David P
